The Cat's out of the Bag

Well, my growing midriff is no longer a secret - impossible to keep it one, actually. Pulling out the maternity clothes was probably a big give-away but I just couldn't keep that big bulge from overflowing up and over the top of my not-prego-just-fat pants. We had Betsy call Muffy. She informed Muff that "we knew Mommy was pregnant because she was fat but now she's fatter." Thanks Boo. I'll use that one on you when you have your first....naaahhhh.

John Michael got to tell Grammy. I'm not sure how that went because he walked away with the phone just as he was about to share the big news. People are taking it a bit better than I expected although I suppose most are keeping the negative comments in the arena of idle gossip to be shared with others. I can hear the loudly whispered questions now "Don't they know how that happens?" "When is enough going to be enough?" "Are they trying to break some kind of a record?" "Six more and they can catch up with the Duggars!" Whatever.

And, for the record, yes - we do know how that happens and we're quite good at it. God knew what He was doing when He invented that one. We'd be happy to explain it to anyone who hasn't managed to figure it out...

Thanks to those of you have offered sincere congratulations. It means a lot to us to know you join us in valuing this little life just as much as the other 10. I got the best response yet today when I informed a good friend of mine on the phone. First a bit of a silence and then giggling and giggling and chuckling. She was there when we were diagnosed infertile and she was there for every one of our last 5 pregnancies. She was chuckling at the goodness of God who likes to confound the experts and do things a way all His own. As I've said all along, He got us into this mess, He'll get us out. He hasn't failed us yet.

What wondeful news! Lucky baby, lucky you:)

Just ignore all the fools who don't appreciate the joy that God is letting you participate in a miracle.

Like Mother Teresa use to say, Having too many children is like saying there are too many flowers!
Congrats!

Congratulations!! What a neat thing to happen to such neat people.

Glad you are so good at "it". That cracked me up!

It was a freeing thing to totally give the blessing of having children over to God and let Him do His thing for us.

Congratulations! It is wonderful to see another large family in our area! I currently have 9 children too. We should plan a get together and really get the tongues wagging. :)
