DOD

On Saturday David, Nathan and JM all went to a birthday party for our priest's son - Matthew.  Matt had a pirate themed party and each guest got an inflatable sword with their name on it.  At one point in the party, I was sitting next to David on the front porch and talking with Pani Chris - Fr's wife.  She decided to try to round up the swords and get them to their rightful owners.  So she picked up Nathan's sword and handed it to David and said, "Here's your sword honey."  David calmly looked at her and said,  "But that's Nathan's sword."  "Oh, so it is."  So she looked around and handed him John's sword.  "Well, *here's* your sword."  "No," David said, "that's not mine either." Then he patiently looked her in the eye and said, "Pani Chris, it's spelled D-A-V-I-D."

Oh the Horror!

I dropped JT off at soccer practice this morning.  As we pulled up into the parking area, JT pointed to a man standing next to his car chatting with his son.  Then in disgust he said, "That's so-and-so's dad. He's always doing that."  Wondering what Soccer Dad faux paus this poor man had committed I asked him, "Doing what?"  "Standing around wearing a muscle shirt and shorty shorts."

DOD

Recently, a few of the younger kids had an opportunity to visit the Baltimore Symphony.  Since I couldn't take them myself, I enlisted one of our volunteers, Greg, to be their chaperone.  The symphony was Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens.  I was discussing the concert with David in the car today:

David, we never got to talk about how you liked the concert you went to with Mr. Greg.  How was it?

It was ok.

Just ok?  What was wrong?

Well, Mom, the music was all wrong.

What do you mean?

They used all the wrong instruments and the tempo was way too slow.

Oh, really?

I mean, Mom, that is *not* how Beethoven's Fifth goes!

Happy Birthday Tad!

Tad wasn't up much for actually celebrating so we made him a great sandwich for lunch and JM baked him his own Big Top Cupcake.  It's nice to have Tad working at home a few days a week - he can always take time out to celebrate the little things with us!  Happy Birthday Young Man!
